Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a donor?

Download the Goodsend app from the iOS App Store, sign up and set up a recurring or one-time donation.

Are payments secure?

Yes. We utilize industry-standard payment infrastructures to facilitate all donations. By using Stripe, we do not have to store any bank account or credit card information from our individual donors.

Is there a minimum donation amount?

For recurring donations, the lowest amount and frequency is $5/month. For a one-time donation, you can give as little as $1 at a time.

How do you collect and disburse the donations?

The Goodsend app is integrated with Stripe to securely collect recurring and one-time donations, and also disburse the funds directly to the bank accounts of our vetted pool of beneficiaries.

What % does Goodsend keep?

We take $0 from donations. 100% is used toward bi-weekly cash relief for our pool of vetted beneficiaries.

Who receives cash relief from Goodsend?

We work established Chicago nonprofits – Care For Friends and North Side Housing – to identify and onboard a pool of their vetted beneficiaries.

Can I choose which individuals receive my donations?

No; you cannot choose an individual recipient, as we need to keep some information private and we don’t want to play favorites. We serve all individuals from our pool of beneficiaries equally.

Can my company donate?

Yes. If you are a corporation interested in sponsoring a 2-week fund on Goodsend, get in touch.

Do beneficiaries have to pay the money back?

No. All money is given with no strings attached. These are donations, not loans.
